A $59.99 plan and a $100 plan can purchase different capabilities. The cheapest headline becomes meaningful only after you specify who starts the conversation, what number the customer sees and what happens outside iMessage.
Start with a complete shopping basket
Write one representative workflow: a customer asks a question, receives a reply, sends an attachment and eventually talks to an operator. Then add any reminders your business sends first. For every provider, price the number, inbound processing, outbound permission, fallback, staff access and support level needed for that exact journey.
Keep a column for one-time charges. A setup fee, a specific area-code request or migration assistance changes the first-year total even when the recurring line price looks familiar. A quotation should name the configuration rather than say merely “one line.”
Use the modular example carefully
LoopMessage lists Dedicated Light from $59.99 monthly. The phone-number option adds $15, fallback another $15 and conversation initiation $30 monthly. The resulting recurring example is $119.99, with listed one-time fees for those options. It is an arithmetic illustration based on the public page, not a claim that every buyer needs all options.
Sendblue has a different boundary: its $100 AI Agent plan is inbound-first, while full outbound is quoted under Enterprise. Comparing that entry plan to an outbound-configured sender without noting direction would mislead the buyer.
Count the work you retain
A self-hosted bridge can have no subscription software fee while still requiring a Mac, account maintenance and someone available to restore service. A managed provider can reduce that work while leaving your team responsible for application retries, credentials and customer context. Put those responsibilities beside the price.
A useful annual estimate is twelve months of the configured subscription plus one-time charges, hardware, carrier costs where applicable and a realistic allowance for support time. Confirm the offer’s renewal and promotion conditions directly. The goal is a comparable budget, not the smallest visible numeral.
