Managed API / SOURCE-BASED REVIEW

Contiguity — price the actual channel

Contiguity markets SMS, email, voice, WhatsApp and iMessage under a broader communications API. Its general SMS usage price should not be used as an iMessage quote; ask for the channel-specific configuration and terms.

OUR TAKE

Best fit: one vendor conversation about multiple channels

Contiguity is a useful comparison when your team would otherwise procure several communications products. Channel breadth may simplify vendor management, but a broad homepage leaves important iMessage-specific questions unanswered. Purchase the actual channel rather than the umbrella promise.

A wider product surface

The website links messaging with email, calling and identity verification. It describes usage, leased-number and free paths, and shows an SDK example for text messaging. That example establishes the general API pitch; it does not prove that iMessage shares the same pricing, addressing model or fallback behavior as SMS.

Keep channel economics separate

The homepage advertises a $0.005 message rate in its discussion of Usage tiers and SMS. We do not transpose that figure onto a dedicated iMessage sender. Ask which numbers support iMessage, what enables production, how inbound conversations work, and what limits or account-review conditions apply. Unlimited commercial sending language should be interpreted alongside the actual terms.

Ask for a channel-specific demonstration

Have the vendor demonstrate an iMessage thread and an Android fallback using the configuration on your quote. Inspect which event confirms acceptance, delivery and response, and whether a record can be retrieved after a timeout. Claims about perfect delivery or instant production access remain marketing statements here, rather than outcomes we have measured.

The decision in one sentence

Consider it for multi-product procurement once the iMessage path is documented and separately costed.
